| The consequences of harassment and discrimination in the workplace are rapidly becoming career-ending issues that affect all employees of an organization.
In particular, the changing face of the American workplace, and the critical relationship to the public, put unique challenges and responsibilities before management. Many organizations are finding they need to bring the "outside in" to gain a stronger perspective and make an added impression on the workforce.
VT&A (a division of WHS) offers proven, pro-active solutions that are easy to implement and provide long-range prevention as well as defensibility. Our training -- whether it be our two-day Train-the Trainer course and our eight-hour, in-house Basic training -- deeply examine workplace cultures and the underlying causes of harassment and discrimination issues. This is about short- and long-term effective change in the organization's culture.
- VT&A's entertaining, multimedia presentation and interactive learning methods ensure greater retention and adaptability to individual applications;
- Encourages introspective examination of individual and organizational behaviors in a non-accusatory tone;
- Covers legalities of acceptable workplace behaviors, and rights and responsibilities of all employees;
- Sessions are tailored for each organization's unique needs.
- Provides separate formats for supervisory & management personnel as well as line employees.
- Testing, compliance certification, and record-keeping in conformance with the latest requirements of AB1825, as modified June 30, 2006.

What is a hostile work environment?
Harassment, speech or conduct that is "severe or pervasive" enough to create, for a reasonable person, a "hostile or abusive work environment" based on race, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, political affiliation, citizenship status, marital status, etc.
The hostile work environment is one of the most critical daily risks organizations experience in today's litigious environment. In addition, these often undetected and unaddressed issues often result in high absenteeism and personnel turnover, a reduction in productivity, and a general decline in employee morale. |
Our principal instructor, Vic Thies, and his team have trained entire police, fire, and city government staffs ranging in size from 25 to over 3,000 personnel.
Over 20,000 command staff, managers, supervisors, and line employees have been educated with these effective new solutions and procedures.
